Oh well...

These are musings on sundry matters, some personal and some of general interest to me. It will be nice to have comments from those of you who actually read this stuff. Good to be back

So my dissertation is over, and I never let it get in my way of having a good time, so I am happier than those who went through considerable self-denial towards this pursuit. And of course, the fact that I am happy with what I wrote, as opposed to many of the self-denied mentioned above, I guess I should have another reason to celebrate. "Sex on TV", pretty catchy title, eh?

The drudgery is about to begin. 8 hours at work, 2 more spent travelling to and fro. Wow. Isn't that just what we all need? Bring home the dough so we can eat some bread. But seriously, I can't be bothered to complain. I was getting a little tired of college, to be honest. I mean, I love being on campus... a lot more vibrancy compared to most offices. But all the same, too many naive goody-two-shoes ignoramuses walking around who are completely oblivious to how the real world works. Someone needs to seriously put them in a fucking sweat shop or something, so that life can bitch-slap them at least a little bit. So much idealistic banter in one year, it was quite a serious assault on my pragmatic self. Don't get me wrong, I love, LOVE bullshitting. But serious ideal crap, no fucking way. Anyway, all good things come to an end, and hopefully, so will working.

Now I shall make leave, and return soon.

"Gimmie the Loot! Gimmie the Loot!"

A quote from a song by the late Notorious B.I.G.

Cash, Loot, Cheddar, Paper, Quid, Sterling, Quay, Bucks, Stacks, Guap, Dough, MONEY. The fuel of day to day life.

My thoughts exactly on the need to get away from university life... Debate is good, but nothing ever gets done. Idealism is a disease at times. Someone is gonna fuck you over sooner or later, and you will fuck someone as well... no matter what your intention is. That doesn't mean you can't be a good person, it just means sooner or later you're gonna have to be realistic.

Lol @ the sweatshops. Thats For all those self-righteous crusaders for justice who wear designer label clothing while marching for workers rights in underdeveloped countries. Gimmie a fuking break.

well.. well.. the poor, highly indebted and dreamy eyed uni boy has spoken and spoken like so many of his predecessors!

but its a vicious cycle, i dare remind you. Out of university.. into the not-so-vicious world and then a few months later reminiscing about the 'good times' back in school.

well, i do not know what kind of idealists you've been bumping into at school but if i were to turn around your argument i could well contend that atleast the university safeguards your right to think and speak ideally.. unlike, well most jobs that preach pragmatism to such extents that they stink of defeatism or rather cowerdice. imagine not being able to practice what you preach because of things like status quo or policies or realpolitik! and don't you give me that bullcrap about changing their ways.. we both know better!

but i guess making some money, taking vacations, buying that new PSP or alternatively the wii can't be that bad an option either, eh? Or wait, now does that smack of petit-bourgeoisie ideals!!

who knows, ja?

the best option seems like winning a bumper lotto prize, retiring and becoming a philanthropist!

If only... if only!

keept it safe.. keep it legal!

so long bru..

PS: BTW, if this post shows me as 'anonymous' then FYI.. it is I.. der stadtwolf!

Triz, ain't difficult to see why we are friends. Raghu, I am the last one to denounce the good times in school, but they are not to confused with the creation of hollow abstract idealism which I never indulged in, and I suppose you should know that. And I think I will chat a bit more about idealism and abstraction in my next post, where I will also tackle the pragmatism equaling cowardice charge. Tengu, your brevity is brilliant, as is the general direction of your thought on this one.
